It is also the strong determination of women from various countries who have doggedly strived to participate and play a full role in the sports movement and its improvement.

With the evolution of the female sports movement just after the Second World War, there took various other changes too. The first female team of athletes from Soviet Union participated to the 1952 Games and its members won gold medals. After a long period of struggle, it was only in 1984 that women were permitted to participate in the marathon.

Gradually women moves on and on and in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, women participated in all games, including judo. The path to Olympic has not been so easy. But now, when they are at the focus, their achievements are counted among the most stupendous in modern Olympics.
