Military World Games:

The Military World Games include a varied sport events organized every four years. This event takes place every one year before the year the Olympic Games are organized. We at Ancient Olympic Games strive to bring into notice the basic knowledge related to the Military World Games.
The game is an event for military sportspeople, organized by the International Military Sports Council (CISM) and also on the Olympic spirit, devoid of political, religious and racial contemplation or discrimination. Additionally, it must be structured in a dignified manner. Founded on 18 February 1948 in France, the key objective of it was to promote Friendship through Sport. The founding nations are Belgium, France, Denmark, Luxembourg and Netherlands.
The games are organized to promote sport, physical and military education through competition and sports with a military module. Joining for various days’ different cultures, habits and feelings during competitions is another objective of behind the organization of the game.   Through the military games, CISM will mainly convey a message of peace to the whole world. It will also be a message of harmony triumphing over differences and contrasts, coming through several programs with an array of free travels and lodging to training costs - to athletes in tricky conditions to participate, and raising the number of competitors, countries will reinforce the links among them and the athletes themselves. 
Following the marvelous achievement of the 1st edition, the Board of Directors of CISM took the decision to repeat this initiative and to organize this major event every four years, just one year before the Olympic Games. Remembering the spirit of the first achievement, four years later in Zagreb, from the 8th to the 17th August 1999, 6734 participants coming from 82 countries have put in  to the great success of the 2nd Military World Games. The success saga continues and then the 3rd edition was organized and held in Catania, Sicile (Italy), December 2003 and the 4th session of the game was held in Hyderabad in 2007.
